“When we blush it’s not one shade; it’s a prismatic multitude of color. To express how you feel or the feeling you want to evoke, you need to layer color for that perfect flush,” says Le Metier de Beaute’s Director of Color Mikey Castillo.
“In order to create dimension, there must be at least two pigments that are contrasting in tone or texture. For instance, matte with sheen, satin with matte, pink with coral, or mauve with bronze. Layering multiple shades eliminates flatness while bringing vitality to the skin – this is true of color whether it is on the eyes, lips, or cheeks.”
The above is such a fabulous description of this remarkable product, that I had to include it. Le Metier de Beaute is very well known for their system of color layering (known as the Couches de Couleur), making their Kaleidoscope Kits one of the most sought after items in the beauty world. The Blush Kaleidoscope was originally available only in Troy, Michigan as a counter exclusive. It was such a hit that it’s finally been made more readily available for a limited time.
What the Neiman Marcus website has to say about LMdB Blush Kaleidoscope Kit:
Le Metier de Beaute introduces a new Kaleidoscope Blush Kit complete with four universally flattering shades perfect for creating the ultimate rosy glow.
Four shades in a range of colors and textures allow infinite looks to be created by blending and layering, or simply wearing each shade individually.
Worn on their own, the hues provide a modern look that brings vitality to the cheeks. When layered, the beautiful and balanced combination of the shades creates an effortless, feminine glow.
Blend the matte shades for day, and transition to evening with a sensuous shimmery layer.
Four cheek hues are included in this kit, and they can be mixed and layered in such a way that can make it suitable for every individual. The formula is shine-absorbing, oil-free, and safe for all skin types.
From top to bottom (see above) – a satin, deep apricot; a matte rose pink; an illuminating peach; and a shimmering, cool pink.
One of the key ways to use a Kaleidoscope Kit from Le Metier de Beaute is by layering two or more of the shades together. I love to dab my blush in each shade and apply to the cheeks for a wash of color that is suitable to a wide range of skin tones. You can also mix two of the shades for a specialized wash of color (shown below). There are so many possibilities, you’ll reach for this palette of shades every single day.
(L-R – Level 1 & Level 3, Level 2 & Level 4, all four shades)
The packaging is one of my favorite styles of any product I own. The kit is sleek looking and comes complete with a mirror on top and four levels of blush pans that swivel out one at a time, or together (depending on what you’re using that day). It stores away in a tidy, circular way that keeps the powders safe and tucked in. A+ for travel!
The Blush Kaleidoscope is marked as Limited Edition, however I REALLY hope that changes… this kit is absolutely amazing, and so universal! PLEASE, LMdB, make it stay forever and infinity!
Le Metier de Beaute Blush Kaleidoscope retails for $95.00 and is available now at Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, and select boutiques.

I stumbled on your blog trying to find reviews on this. I am wanting to purchase it but wanted your opinion if this is pigmented enough for a medium skin tone? I’m a NC42. By the way, I’m enjoying your blog!!
Brooke says
Thank you!! Yes, LMdB is finely milled and very pigmented. You can apply more blush to get the color you desire, but I am NW20-25 and I just have to tap my brush in and sweep it on my face, then I’m good to go! 9 times out of 10 when I travel it’s the only blush I bring with me.
Ana says
Thanks for responding. I’ll be going overseas soon and I’m wanting a compact blush kit to take with me.
Brooke says
This is a good one! Pack it safely, the powders are very fine and can be sensitive. Put it in your carry on if you can!

Isn’t it gorgeous. LMdB informed me a while back that this blush kit is part of the permanent lineup now. NOT LE! YAY!
Brooke says
that is awesome news!!! I saw on the department store sites it was under the LE section and I was devastated! So glad it’s perm!

I haven’t tried this brand yet but I’m seriously tempted by this blush kaleidoscope. I think I can wear all the colors too.
Brooke says
If you’ve been waiting, this is a great product to start with. Once you try this you’ll be addicted, though! Best gloss in the world, too!

I’m so glad you waited to get this. It’s so much more unique than the new eyeshadow kaleidoscopes. I absolutely love mine.
Emi at Project Swatch says
I am so tempted by this! It’s just so pretty, and it’s really not *that* expensive when you consider that it’s really four blushes . . .
Brooke says
Exactly! And they mix together to make even more colors! You’ve got to have it!
