Nine Mineralize Eye Shadows (Earthly, Aurora, Invincible Light, Neo Nebula, Bright Moon, Magnetic Attraction, Sky, Water, and Universal Appeal) have released with the July 2012 Collection of Heavenly Creature by MAC.
The sheer and light application of Mineralize Eye Shadows tend to make them a certain hit or miss for most people. You either love ’em, or you hate ’em… there doesn’t seem to be any in between.
I swatched these all blended because the swirls were small and there is no way I could get it done separately with the shadows that I received. You may have swirls that are larger and that you can work with differently. These are always all a little different.
What the MAC website has to say about Mineralize Eye Shadows:
Baked minerals refined into a powder formula provide exceptionally sheer and lightweight application. Colour builds lightly, layer after layer, without heavy coverage.
Earthly (beige, peach and cool brown melange) blends together to make a sheer greyed taupe on the swatch, on the lid it appears more of a grey bone color. This was not abundantly shimmery. I love that it resembles leopard print!
Aurora (peach, green and brown melange) blends together to make a very light bronzy brown. It wore as more of a tan shade on the lid. This one was slightly frosty but beautiful.
Formula wise these shadows are easy to blend and had no fall-out onto my cheeks, though quite a bit of dust was made as I dipped my brush (MAC 239) in. As always, if you decide to use these wet you’ll get a greater amount of pigment.
For the EOTD I used MUFE Eye Prime as a base and put Earthly all over the lid and through the crease. I placed Aurora above the crease and blended. The top eye liner is Eyeko Black Skinny Liquid Eyeliner and on the bottom I used Chanel Noir Le Crayon Kohl on the waterline and Chanel Peche Cuivre Le Crayon Kohl underneath that. The mascara is Beauty Addicts Show-OFF Mascara.

The Peach says
I picked up Universal Appeal. It was my first MAC mineralize shadow. I’m not a big fan. Pretty disappointed in the pigmentation. I guess I’m going to be on the “hate them” side of things 🙁
