When the Marc Jacobs Beauty line launched I was pretty torn.  I love Marc Jacobs as a designer, but, as with any new pricey beauty line, you get timid.  Is it a publicity thing?  A trend that fashion designers now suddenly want a makeup line?

When the first few initial pieces launched early on Sephora for VIB’s I held off.  I wanted to see what the other bloggers said before I took the plunge.  The reviews are in and people are excited and in love.  So, when the full collection launched I made a list.  Thankfully, my local Sephora had the entire collection in stock so I ran off to play.

The Nail Lacquer I’m posting about today called to me early on.  It just sounded pretty and totally like something I’d wear.  At the store, I did one swipe of color on my thumb and immediately put it in my basket.  Petra is gorgeous.

IMG_4192What Sephora says about Marc Jacobs Beauty Enamored Hi-Shine Nail Lacquer:

What it is:
A superior polish with an unprecedented finish and the shine of 30 coats of lacquer.

What it does:
Get smitten with this fresh take on nail enamel. Inspired by Marc’s highly lacquered coffee table, Enamored Hi-Shine Lacquer is formulated with patented bonding agents that deliver a plasticized, wet look, while the color-rich creams and fine glitters ensure vivid, chip-resistant wear. Choose from a vast array of shades inspired by Marc’s favorite movies.

What else you need to know:
The custom, curve-hugging brush optimizes application and the curvature of the bottle resembles a smile.

IMG_4220 IMG_4222IMG_4185IMG_4216Petra (dirty bronze metallic shimmer) is complex as all get out.  In the first pic at the top of this post you can see the silvered gold tones, but in the other bottle pic and swatch photo it’s easier to pick out the greyed plummy metallic as well as some burgundy shimmer.

The formula on Petra is outstanding.  It painted on very easily and was opaque in one coat.  I would absolutely purchase more Marc Jacobs Beauty polishes based on how wonderfully this one performed.

Marc Jacobs Beauty Enamored Hi-Shine Nail Lacquer retails for $18.00 and is available exclusively at Sephora.

You’re welcome! I can’t find anything like it… this is a great choice. I am loving the eye and lips too. I posted a few photos to instagram =)

“Petra is gorgeous” – Mmmm, I thinks so too.
If the image of your nails is from one application, all I can say is “Wow!”

Hmmm… Looks promising. That colour is really gorgeous, tho similar to a couple I already have in my collection. I am surprised that the price point isn’t higher. I thought that it was going to be at least $25.00 a bottle. $18.00 is a nice surprise. I think a little Marc Jacobs will soon be a part of my housewife life. Thanks for your review. 😀

I think $18 is so that more people can get into the line. There are so many polishes out there, $18 makes it lower than even NARS (which is currently at $19 a bottle). If you pick this one up lmk if you do comparisons so I can link you!
