Tom Ford has some really stunning beauty products. So stunning, that even though they’re pricey, I can’t seem to stay away. Rather recently, a new Nail Lacquer shade launched in Black Sugar. As you can see below, it appears to be very beautiful and very unique. I wasn’t able to find many reviews, but they all seemed pretty positive and from pictures Black Sugar appeared to be almost like a chameleon of color.
What Neiman Marcus says about Tom Ford Nail Lacquer:
To Tom Ford, every detail counts. This extra-amplified, gloss and shine nail lacquer, in a wardrobe of shades from alluring brights to chic neutrals, lets you express your mood and complete your look. Its groundbreaking, high-performance formula with bendable coating delivers high coverage and shine while staying color true throughout wear.
Black Sugar has a creamy plummy taupe base and a fiery mix of very subtle red, copper and golden shimmer. As far as formula goes it was pretty thin and I needed three coats for full and even opacity. The shimmer is subtle to the point of non-existence unless you’re really trying and oddly the next day it wasn’t visible at all. The plum taupe shade itself is pretty, but a dime-a-dozen and available at a much cheaper price point within just about every brand you can think of. Oh, how I wish it’d have really made that gorgeous shimmer visible… can you even imagine?
For the price point, I expected it to be at the very least on par with Chanel or Dior. Being that it’s more expensive than those designer brands it really should’ve been even better.
What do you think of this shade? Is this polish worth the hype?
Tom Ford Nail Lacquer retails for $32.00 and is available at Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom and Bloomingdales. Black Sugar Nail Lacquer is Limited Edition as part of the Fall 2013 collection.

I think it’s beautiful, but way out of my price range. I think the most I’ll ever pay for a polish is $20 for Lippmann, and even that is pushing it!
