The Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture Vernis À Lèvres Glossy Stain is one of my favorite no-budge lip products. In 2013 the Rebel Nudes launched and I found myself pouring over swatches online to find the best possible picks for my pout. Finally I settled on 106 Beige Anarchist & 107 Naughty Mauve.
What Sephora says about Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture Vernis À Lèvres Glossy Stain:
What it is:
A revolutionary nude glossy stain with all-day 3D luminous effect.
What it does:
This glossy Stain captures the shine of a gloss, color of a lipstick, and the long wear of a stain. Rebel Nudes is the first to premiere Euphoric Pearl technology for an all-day 3D luminous effect.
What it is formulated WITHOUT:
What else you need to know:
The applicator’s unique slanted tip and short, soft bristles allow for flawless application with perfect precision.
106 Beige Anarchist is a deep nude with with gorgeous luminescent shimmer. The shimmer is majorly apparent by the swatch photo above, but as you can see on the lips below it doesn’t show up that much when you wear it. This shade gave my lips next to no color, just a bit of sparkle. Which is normally what I like for day-to-day, but if it’s going to last as well as this formula does I can definitely stand for it to go a little darker!
107 Naughty Mauve appears like it’ll be your run-of-the-mill raisin shade, but in actuality it’s got major fuchsia flash. Again, more apparent on the swatch photo than the lip photo… Just not what I expected at all, but I like it
I’ve been a lover of this formula by YSL for a long time, and these two Rebel Nudes are no exception. Of course the sponge applicator is slanted and tapered making for easy and precise application, though it may take you a time or two to get used to it.
I’d love to get my hands on a few more shades, but definitely want to check them out in person first since everyone’s swatches are so different. These are the beauty enigma of the interwebs!
