The April 2014 GlossyBox is here! This box was extra nice for me because I got to sample 5 brands that I’ve never heard of before and/or don’t get to play with much. I love new things, especially going into (finally) warmer weather!
Currently available in over 16 countries, GlossyBox has become known for their full sized products, high quality samples and prestigious brands such as NARS, Lancome, Laura Mercier, Tarte and more.
Let’s check out the goodies inside the April 2014 GLOSSYBOX!
From Aqua Spa, Relax Body Creme. This cream really does make me relax when I breathe it in. It’s scented with Lavender & Chamomile and feels really rich and luxurious. Today was an especially tense day with the kids being rather… mischievous… (I’m being nice here) so once they went to bed this creme definitely came in handy!
From Ciate London, Paint Pot. Did reading “paint pot” throw you off? I was thrown at first, but yes, this paint pot is a nail polish! I’ve heard and seen a lot about Ciate but haven’t personally tried anything from the line. The shade I received was in Kaftan and it’s a beautiful metallic yellow with gold glitter. Very yellow brick road. It’s a little sheer (below is two coats) but I’m still in lust with it.
From Caldrea, Body Wash. The scent I received is the Aloe Water Apricot. It’s a clean scent but something about the combo just doesn’t work well with my body chemistry. The fragrance itself dies down a bit after you use it, but it’s just not for me.
From Bellapierre Cosmetics, Super Gloss in Vanilla Pink. I love the feel of this gloss, it’s got an awesome amount of slip and you can’t feel the shimmer at all on your lips if you rub them together. This particular shade is on the sheer side when worn, but even with a light coat it’s moisturizing and a great color. This features a doe foot applicator, which we all know is my fave.
From LASPLASH Cosmetics, Eyeshadow Sealer/Base. This is said to intensify color and provide extra protection against smears and smudges. This is surprisingly a great eyeshadow base for me, and normally the only one I reach for is the Urban Decay Primer Potion.
This month was really great so I’m super excited to get May’s shipment (which is curated by Bergdorf Goodman!)! My favorite part was definitely the Ciate nail polish!
With GlossyBox you get a bit of everything, makeup, skin care, body product… I love that this subscription box is sure to cover all of the bases, every single month.
GLOSSYBOX is a subscription service. You sign up on the website and then from there you can order your subscription based on one month, six months, or a year. You’ll answer a series of questions and based off of that, you will receive a customized box. This is all pretty standard for a beauty subscription service.
The price is a bit higher than that of other services you may have heard of or belong to. At $21 I would expect double the awesomeness of what I’d receive from, say, Birchbox.
GLOSSYBOX will always offer a MINIMUM of five products. After receiving your box, you can fill out more surveys in order to rate the products you received so they can better tailor your next package. So, basically, after a few months of the service, your packages should be PERFECT.
**TIP – Make sure you review the products received in your GLOSSYBOX to receive 20 GLOSSYDots per review. You can use these toward your own free box!**
