YOU GUYS! I had the BEST time at The Makeup Show NYC in May! The event itself is, IMO, very organized and high energy while still being professional. I got to attend this event as press so you may have seen some photos on Instagram, but now I’m excited to share all of the info I learned on the new products with you!
NEW YORK, NY (May 2014) – The Makeup Show NYC, which took place May 4th and 5th, at Metropolitan Pavilion closes with more inspiration and education than ever before. In its 9th year, The Makeup Show NYC brought together 7,000attendees, and proved to be the most inspiring year yet with the return of The Makeup Show Career Fair, addition of over 30 new exhibitors and brands, as well as over 20 additional classes. Pro artists found an array of color and cosmetics in every corner, could shop at more than 120 beauty brands each offering exclusive show prices, and be inspired from nearly 70 keynotes,hands-on workshops, seminars, as well as kit focus and career classes.
It was hard to visit every booth because there were so many fabulous brands and so many people, but I tried my best to maneuver around and talk to everyone I could. The most exciting thing I learned? Charlotte Tilbury is launching in the states in September! While I was devastated they weren’t selling product there (I’m lemming every thing from this brand) it was fantastic to finally get to play around with their line. September can’t get here soon enough!
Ardency Inn was another huge favorite of mine at the event. They weren’t selling a ton of product (the line itself is new) but we did get to preview a few items and I picked up some MODESTER Smooth Ride Supercharged Eyeliners that you can water line with and they.don’t.budge.
MAC PRO was there front and center with their amazing products and artists. Gina Bettelli was the first seminar I sat down for where she taught Recreating Icons.
The next seminar was from OCC Makeup and was taught by Courtney Tichman. Pretty as a Drag Queen indeed. Look how stunning she is!
NARS gave me a minor (okay, major) fan girl moment as Cindy Rodriguez taught Contouring and Highlighting with NARS Matte Multiples and Contour Brushes. Her skill level is fantastic and she’s completely sweet and gorgeous. I loved her lip color so I had to run right over to the NARS booth to purchase! NARS also had their #NARSISSIST signs for selfies while you wait in line!
This was the first time I got to see Jouer Cosmetics in person. I’m now such a super-fan! Their eyeshadow sticks are phenomenal (yes, I bought) and I went insane for the lipgloss! I can’t wait to try more!
Pursebuzz was on hand with Violet Voss, though it was way too busy to meet her. My step-sis is below getting glitter on her lips by one of the artists! It stayed on SO WELL all day!
Other brands on hand that I stopped by were Crown Brush, Ofra, Gorgeous Cosmetics, Temptu PRO (review here), BreakUps to Makeup and more! – you can expect reviews from me on all of the products purchased!
It was a fantastic and way too short tip, but it was awesome to meet all of the fantastic artists, learn some new tricks and meet up with a few of my fave bloggers!
The Makeup Show Chicago is going on RIGHT NOW! What brand would you visit first?

I’d have loved to have gone. NYC scares me though – I know I’d get lost. One year I’ll make it to Chicago or LA since this is the show I’d love to see. I better start saving now!
