I have no clue where this year went. Holidays, birthdays, special events… everything flew by so fast.
It’s now time, past time really, to start thinking about your Holiday Party Looks. What will you wear for family gatherings? What’s good for New Years? No matter what holiday or special occasion you celebrate, you’ll want to be a little more done up than usual for the event. Hopefully this post will give you a bit of inspiration!
For my holiday look I decided to use products I purchased recently on Black Friday from EM Cosmetics. My haul included the Holiday Life Palette: New Year’s Countdown Edition, three waterliners in Ro’s Gold, Bronze Kiss and Chocolate Dream and Pillow Plush Lip Balm in Strawberry.
Previously I reviewed the Winter Life Palette: Ice Bunny Edition and loved it so much I had to buy New Year’s Countdown during the sale. I love to wear golds and cranberries this time of the year and this palette carried the perfect blend of eye, cheek and lip shades in those colors.
For the eyes I applied Cranberry Cocktail all over the lid, Couples Gold in the crease blending up, Good Cheers! was used to blend out the crease color and Sequin Dress was used at the inner corners and to highlight. Clock Strikes Midnight was used in the outer V and brought very slightly into the crease.
For the waterliners I applied Chocolate Dream all around the eye and then placed Bronze Kiss under the outer part of the lower eye lash area. Ro’s Gold is at the inner corners at the top and bottom, and at the outer corners in between Chocolate Dream.
I used the blush in Countdown very lightly on my cheeks (I mean… that sucker is pigmented!). For the lips I applied Stroke of Plum all over and then dabbed Sparkling Punch in the center for some shine and shimmer.

The Pillow Plush Lip Balm is great for a little bit of lip moisture and tint while you’re out celebrating. The small pot will fit nicely in your purse or clutch, since it may not be feasible to carry the Holiday Life Palette around with you.

That’s a gorgeous look on you. Maybe it’s just me but when I see the em palettes, I keep thinking they’re from ELF. One of these days I’ll get around to ordering.
